PT. KARAWANG TATABINA INDUTRIAL ESTATE (Karawang, President Director; Makoto Yamaguchi), has started the base development for the brandnew expansion area. This area holds about 105 ha and it is located next to the existing area.
Located 60 km east of the Jakarta CBD, KIIC has been operated since 1992 as a joint venture by Japanese giant Trading company Itochu Corporation and leading Indonesian Corporate Group Sinarmas. Approximately 170 companies from all over the world are operating in a total existing area of 1,400 hectares.
KIIC proudly presents its high-quality development of the Industrial Estate, which was designed by a Japanese Consultant Company, and it was developed by Japanese contractors.
For flood prevention, we review the drainage design every year by considering the climate change, led by experienced engineers. KIIC made contact with “Premium Service Contract” with a state-owned electric company (PLN), which enable us to secure the electrical supply from 2 separate lines. In addition, there are reservoirs which have the capacity for more than 2 weeks of our existing companies’ need. We ensure stable electricity and water supply.
In addition to this stable hard service, we also take care of the soft service such as security service inside the estate, also after service support team who can share information.
With these efforts, we manage this industrial estate for almost 3 decades.
With the cooperation with our tenants, KIIC tries to help the surrounding villages by giving them scholarships, support from the disasters. And we put effort for the environmental matters such as using LED for our street light, putting solar panels in our water treatment plant.
We got a reward of the “Best Industrial Estate” from the Ministry of Industry in Indonesia considering those efforts.
For this expansion area, we are open not only to Japanese companies but also to Chinese and Korean companies, which have had more presence in Indonesia lately.
Also, we are open to those industries which require high stable infrastructure such as Datacenter. The schedule of the completion is the first half in 2023, but we can arrange the timing of handover depend on customers at the earliest, it is possible from 1Q in 2022.
The KIIC keep improving not only by expanding its land but also by developing additional warehouse, container depot for the tenants. At the same time, KIIC produces many solutions to the tenants by utilizing the resource we have from both shareholders.
